Finnish cloud provider UpCloud has launched a data center location in Stavanger, Norway.
Announced on January 20, the region is now available to new and existing customers.
The launch is just over a month on from the launch of UpCloud’s Denmark location, and is part of the company’s aim to provide pan-Nordic coverage.
In Norway, the company is using a Green Mountain facility. The data center is located in Rennesøy near Stavanger, is powered by renewable energy, and uses a deep-water fjord cooling solution.
Green Mountain opened the data center in 2014. Today, it spans 22,600 sqm (230,000 sq ft) and offers 29MW of IT capacity. The company currently operates four sites across Norway in Oslo, Rjukan, and Rennesøy. Green Mountain operates a data center campus for TikTok known as the OSL2-Hamar campus.
UpCloud now has ten locations in Europe, including Finland, Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, and the UK.
UpCloud was founded in 2011 and is headquartered in Helsinki, Finland. The company says it has more than 10,000 customers at present.
