Leadership update at Savills

In accordance with the plans previously announced by Savills, Mark Ridley retired at the end of 2025 after a 29 year career at Savills, seven of them as group chief executive, as well as 41 years in the industry. He has now been replaced as executive group director by Simon Shaw.
Shaw joined Savills in March 2009 as chief financial officer working alongside the Group Chief Executive with responsibility for all financial matters, Group strategy, significant M&A, Technology and Investor Relations.
Shaw is a member of the group’s Global and Regional Executive Committees (Asia Pacific/EMEA/US). In addition, he is responsible to the board of Savills plc for Savills Investment Management.
Shaw is also chairman of Grosvenor Hill Ventures ltd, Savills proprietary private equity investment subsidiary focused on investing in “Proptech” opportunities.
The group anticipates that Nick Sanderson will join as group chief financial officer in the early part of next month.
Nicolai Dane joins Knight Frank as a partner

Knight Frank has announced the appointment of new partner Nicolai Dane to its London capital markets and development team, strengthening its delivery of advisory services to investors, developers and owners acquiring multi-sector commercial real estate in the capital.
Dane joins Knight Frank having spent the last 10 years at Colliers as a director in its capital markets team. Prior to this, he worked as a senior analyst at CBRE within their transactions and advisory services division.
In his new role, Dane will join the London capital markets and development team where he will support the business on their capital raise mandates.

Lichfields appoints new senior director

UK planning and development consultancy Lichfields has appointed Caroline McDade as a senior director, strengthening its major projects capability in London and nationally.
McDade joins from BNP Paribas Real Estate where she was national head of planning leading a UK-wide team advising institutional investors, developers and landowners. She brings almost three decades of experience across major regeneration, mixed-use and residential schemes, with a career spanning senior roles including Deloitte and Drivers Jonas.
Based in Lichfields’ London office, McDade will support the firm’s major projects team, working on large-scale, complex schemes across sectors and geographies.
