Savills adds to new homes team in East of England

Savills has added to its new homes team in the East of England with the appointment of a new associate director.
Ashley Gale has joined residential development dales in the firm’s Cambridge office.
He has 20 years’ experience working in the property sector, most recently as head of sales with regional housebuilder Hopkins Homes. Prior to that he worked for Weston Homes for 18 years, with his last role being regional sales director.
At Savills he will be responsible for advising housebuilders on how best to market their homes, as well as guiding buyers through the sales process.
Gale said: “I’m very excited to take this next step in my career – working in what is already a very experienced team, expanding my industry knowledge and collaborating with colleagues across the eastern region.
“I know Savills well having worked with them several times in my previous roles and they’ve always been a company with an excellent reputation and a strong track record of providing the highest levels of service.
“The government’s housebuilding targets mean it’s an interesting time for the new build sector and I’m looking forward to using my experience to help drive future growth and ensure new and existing clients can make the most of the opportunities ahead.
“Buyer confidence, mortgage rates and availability have all seen improvements compared to where they were a year ago and – despite some ongoing headwinds – demand for new build homes continues to be strong.
“While early days, this shift in sentiment will be critical to maximising the potential of the new homes market in the years to come and offers some green shoots of optimism.”
Toby Greenhow, head of Residential Development Sales for Savills in the East of England, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Ashley into the Savills fold. His extensive experience and in-depth understanding of the new homes market will be a real asset to our clients and the wider team – reflecting our continued commitment to investing in top talent and further enhancing our capacity to deliver exceptional results.”
The Hill Group promotes Matt Wilson to group technical director

The Hill Group has announced the promotion of Matt Wilson to group technical director, overseeing design and technical compliance across the business.
In his new role, Wilson will lead the technical functions, making sure that all development plans align with current and forthcoming legislation. A key focus will be achieving compliance with the new Future Homes Standard, expected to be published later this year.
Wilson will also play a key role in supporting the delivery of the housebuilder’s new five-year business plan, which sets out a strategy for growth through a focus on mixed-tenure housing and partnership-led development. In addition, he will look at driving efficiencies through standardised approaches to development and contribute to the land acquisition strategy.
Having joined Hill in 2008 as a technical co-ordinator, Wilson has already spent over 17 years with the company. Most recently, he held the position of technical manager for the Eastern Region, where he was responsible for design and technical compliance across all residential developments in that area. Before joining Hill, he spent 13 years at David Wilson Homes, starting as a trainee and continuing through the company’s acquisition by Barratt Developments.
Andy Hill, founder and group chief executive of The Hill Group, said: “Matt is a long-standing and highly respected member of our team, and I’m delighted to recognise his valuable contribution with this well-deserved promotion. His technical expertise, deep understanding of our business, and commitment to quality and innovation will be instrumental as we continue to expand and uphold the high standards of design and sustainability that The Hill Group is known for.”
