Nurtur and BroadbandUK launch new broadband service for estate agents

PropTech company Nurtur has partnered with connectivity data provider BroadbandUK to launch a broadband availability tool designed specifically for the property sector. The service provides address-level broadband information, addressing a long-standing gap in estate agency listings.

Despite broadband increasingly being regarded as a critical utility — second only to location for many homebuyers — most property listings currently lack detailed, accurate connectivity data. The new service aims to change that by integrating directly into estate agency websites and portals, displaying broadband availability and speed alongside standard property information.

The data covers nearly all UK residential properties and is available free of charge to Nurtur customers.

The service goes beyond basic Ofcom speed categories, offering detailed insights into each property’s broadband connectivity — including available ISPs, connection types (such as fibre or copper), and estimated speeds.

With around 40% of UK workers now working from home at least part-time, reliable broadband has become a key consideration for buyers and renters. Properties with fast, stable connections can command premiums of £3,500 or more, while poor broadband has been shown to negatively impact perceived value, with some studies citing reductions of up to 25%.

Research also shows that three-quarters of home workers have experienced interruptions due to poor connectivity.

The launch comes as the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers (DMCC) Act introduces new requirements for estate agents to provide all material information relevant to buyers and renters — including broadband data — as part of informed decision-making.

Key regulatory points include:

+ Broadband connectivity now falls under mandatory disclosure requirements

+ Estate agents must display accurate internet capability data on property listings

+ From 6 April 2025, the CMA can fine businesses up to £300,000 or 10% of global turnover for breaches

The ‘Broadband Availability’ service addresses this compliance requirement whilst providing genuine value to buyers and renters who increasingly view reliable connectivity as essential infrastructure

Richard Combellack, COO at Nurtur, said: “The integration of BroadbandUK’s service into our platform will offer our clients a seamless way to display vital broadband information on property listings, meeting the growing demands of the property sector.”

Saveen Rajan, CEO of BroadbandUK, added: “This partnership builds on years of research and development to bring address-level precision to the property market. We’re delighted to be working with Nurtur to provide clarity around connectivity, as broadband has become a fundamental part of everyday life. This gives buyers and renters the confidence to make informed decisions before they commit.”
