Swedish body scanning startup Neko Health is set to open two new clinics in the UK, which’ll double its presence since it launched in the country less than a year ago.
The buzzy healthtech startup, cofounded by Spotify CEO Daniel Ek, is opening up sites in Manchester and Birmingham according to construction site listings filed by the company on Constructionmap and job listings which are recruiting healthcare workers to work on-site in both cities.
Neko Health has opened two centres in London in the past year, after its first site launched in Stockholm in early 2023.
Founded by Ek and Neko CEO Hjalmar Nilsonne in 2023, the company offers full-body skin scans designed to detect early signs of conditions like cardiovascular disease, diabetes and skin irregularities.
It uses geothermal imaging, 2D and 3D photography and blood samples to measure patients’ health. The experience costs £299 and an appointment takes about an hour, including a consultation with an in-house GP.
According to Neko Health, its Stockholm clinic conducted 4,362 scans in 2024, with 54 people found to have had a previously unknown life threatening condition.
Earlier this year, Neko raised $260m Series B led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with its valuation hitting $1.7bn.
Neko Health declined to comment.
