The UK takeover panel has extended the deadline for Qualcomm to acquire UK chip designer Alphawave Semi.
The company now has until May 27 to finalize an acquisition offer, per a report from Reuters. This is the second time the deadline to make an offer has been extended, with the previous date for a takeover offer expiring on May 12.
In a filing with the London Stock Exchange in early April, Qualcomm confirmed that it is “considering making an offer to acquire the entire issued, and to be issued, share capital of Alphawave” and, at the time, was given 28 days to decide whether it wishes to make an offer.
It had previously been reported that Arm had explored the prospect of acquiring Alphawave, but decided not to move forward with the purchase after initial discussions with the company.
