Hannah Awonuga leaves Knight Frank as estate agency abolishes DE&I position

The Knight Frank’s group head of diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I), Hannah Awonuga, has left the business after her role was made redundant.
Her role became redundant when the firm’s DE&I function was brought within the broader talent and culture team.
Awonuga was appointed group head of DE&I at Knight Frank in September 2023, shortly after the new role had been created.
Awonuga, who has over 17 years of experience in the banking industry, joined Knight Frank from Barclays Bank PLC, where she was global director and head of DE&I colleague engagement.
Her role focussed on developing a strategic roadmap with the overall purpose of providing a superior experience for Knight Frank’s people. She provided strategic direction to the group executive and UK Boards, Business Balance leads and formulate and execute a DE&I strategy to facilitate the adoption of industry-wide best practices in DE&I, as well as develop a set of metrics that drove this agenda across the group.
Awonuga’s role became redundant when the firm’s DE&I function was brought within the broader talent and culture team.
Natasha and David Morrey join Harding Green

Natasha and David Morrey have joined Harding Green.
Natasha, a new homes specialist, has enjoyed a 14-year career across notable firms, including Savills and Berkeley Group.

New co-chairs appointed to new Association for Rental Living combined operations committee

The Association for Rental Living – the membership body for all institutionally backed, professionally managed purpose-built rental living sectors – has announced the launch of its new combined operations committee.
The committee’s role will be to share knowledge among operators across the rental living sector, develop best practice and identify areas of focus for the Association for Rental Living.
Louise Bangee of urbanbubble and Freya Richard of Vertus will co-chair the combined operations committee, supported by expert members from across the rental living sector.
Initial areas of focus falling within the committee’s remit include salary benchmarking, security and bike theft, Building Safety Act issues, the practical implications of the Renters’ Rights Bill and minimum professional qualification requirements. The Association for Rental Living will establish subcommittees as required to focus on specific issues in greater depth.

In addition to the co-chairs, committee members will include Olly Canver from Essential Living, Sakina Murtaza of Related Argent, Tom Lord from Greystar, Russell Markou from Cortland and Quintain Living’s Grace Oyesoro. Also on the committee are Knight Dragon’s Jackie Robinson, Kevin Watson from PLATFORM_, Lavina Clarke from Moda and Neelam Saihjpal of VervLife. Further members include Grace Morgan of CompassRock International, Eleanor Fiennes from Packaged Living and Sam Smith from Dandara Living.
