BSO’s new data center unit, DataOne, is expanding into the US and developing a data center for European cloud firm Nebius.
Nebius this week announced plans to develop a new 300MW data center in New Jersey, its second planned US location.
At the time the company declined to provide more details, but DataOne this week announced itself as the firm building the new facility.
To be located in Vineland, Cumberland County, DataOne said it will be delivering the first phase of the new facility in 20 weeks. The site will be powered at least in part by a behind-the-meter electricity solution.
Further details haven’t been shared. DCD has reached out for more information.
“This collaboration marks a turning point in data center engineering. Decades of delivering exceptional mission critical services for BSO’s customers have prepared DataOne for the complex infrastructure demands of AI at scale,” said Charles-Antoine Beyney, CEO of DataOne. “This facility is as state-of-the-art as data centers come, offering unprecedented energy efficiency and a strategic location to support Nebius’ rapid global expansion. Our ambition doesn’t stop with what we’re announcing today; we aim to build this campus out with multiple clients and tenants to become a gigawatt-scale data center campus.”
Andrey Korolenko, chief product & infrastructure officer and co-founder of Nebius, added: “By combining Nebius’ expertise in AI-native cloud computing with DataOne’s deep knowledge of data center infrastructure, we are accelerating deployment timelines without compromising on performance or sustainability. This facility will be a major step in expanding our footprint in the US market, reinforcing Nebius’ position as a leader in next-generation AI cloud infrastructure.”
Infrastructure and connectivity provider BSO launched DataOne last year with the backing of Ardian. The company launched by taking over two sites in France from DXC – in Grenoble (Eybens) and Lyon (Villefontaine). by mid-2025. It has also secured G42 as a customer for a planned expansion in Grenoble.
Founded in 2004, BSO has PoPs at more than 240 data centers across 33 countries. Its network includes more than 50 cloud on-ramps, 30 stock exchanges, and 150,000 miles of subsea fiber. As well as colocation services from ten sites, the company has a cloud offering – known as BSO Cloud.
Nebius was formed last year after Russian tech firm Yandex’s European operations were spun off into a separate entity. Based in Amsterdam, Nebius took control of Yandex’s Finnish data center, its Nebius AI unit, as well as data firm Toloka AI, edtech provider TripleTen, and autonomous driving firm Avride.
After securing $700 million in funding and relisting on the Nasdaq, the company has been doubling down on its data center capacity. Nebius has pledged to invest upwards of $1 billion in AI infrastructure in Europe by mid-2025. Investments include tripling the capacity of its Finnish data center; expanding into the US and leasing space at a former printing press in Kansas City, Missouri, that is being converted into a data center; leasing space with Verne in Iceland; and deploying GPU hardware in Paris with Equinix.
