A new data center is being proposed in Sydney, Australia.
Australian real estate firm ISPT has filed a State Significant Development application with the New South Wales Government for the Julius Avenue Data Centre.
Located at 6-8 Julius Avenue North Ryde, the six-story facility will total 36,328 sqm (391,031 sq ft) and offer 170MW.
The AU$1.8 billion (US$1.15bn) project would include an on-site switching station and 72 3.2MW back-up generators.
Established in 1994 by a group of Australian superannuation funds, ISPT has a property portfolio totaling more than AU$20.4 billion (US$13.02bn) across Australia – spanning office, retail, industrial, education, health, and residential properties. ISPT is a wholly-owned subsidiary of IFM Investors after merging with the company late last year.
The proposed data center site was previously listed on ISPT’s website as Lots 8 and 0 of its Epicentre developments in Riverside Corporate Park. The company previously planned to develop three six-story office buildings on the site. The land was reportedly acquired in 1998 and owned by ISPT’s Core Fund.
