Gothenburg-based Privasea has raised $15M in Series A funding, bringing its valuation to $180M. The round was led by GSR, Amber, and Echo, with continued support from Binance Labs, OKX Ventures, Gate Labs, and Laser Digital. The company plans to use the capital to accelerate the development of its DeepSea AI Network, which combines Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) with machine learning for secure AI computations on encrypted data. This funding will support the deployment of DeepSea’s mainnet and the creation of intelligent agent-based solutions aimed at sectors like finance, healthcare, and smart automation. The network’s testnet beta, launched in January 2025, marks a step forward in Privasea’s push to advance privacy-focused AI technologies for both Web2 and Web3 environments.
In an era where human-machine interaction and intelligent agent systems are reshaping industries, businesses need robust AI infrastructures that enhance collaboration and efficiency. This newly raised funding will support Privasea in building powerful, user-friendly AI tools to drive breakthroughs in fields such as finance, healthcare, and smart automation.
Launched on January 6, 2025, the DeepSea testnet beta introduces key features aimed at early adopters, including a comprehensive dashboard for contributors to monitor node activity, stake tokens, and manage workloads. The testnet also includes two essential nodes: the WorkHeart Node, designed for proof-of-work contributions, and the high-performance Privanetix Node. DeepSea’s innovative approach integrates Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) with machine learning, allowing deep learning inference to be performed directly on encrypted data, ensuring both confidentiality and high performance. This combination marks a significant step forward in secure AI computations.
The successful fundraising and DeepSea launch signify a critical step in Privasea’s mission to become a global leader in AI innovation. With an upcoming Genesis release on January 27th and the mainnet launch set for Q1 2025, Privasea is committed to advancing human-machine collaboration and intelligent agent ecosystems.
“We’re building the foundation for a decentralized future where privacy is a default, not an afterthought,” said Privasea’s founder and CEO. “This fundraising allows us to accelerate the development of Web2 and Web3 privacy solutions that empower both individuals and enterprises.”
