Stockholm-based startup Tandem Health has recently secured $9.5 million in seed funding, with Northzone leading the investment round. Notable angel operators from OpenAI and Google DeepMind, along with the founder of Capio Sverige and healthcare VC Amino Collective, also participated in this funding. Tandem plans to use the funding to enhance its clinician copilot platform, scale operations, expand its team, ensure compliance and security, and invest in research and innovation.
Tandem is dedicated to revolutionizing European healthcare through its clinician copilot. This tool is designed to assist clinicians by reducing the burden of administrative tasks, allowing them to concentrate more on providing quality care to patients.
The company focuses on developing solutions that streamline administrative processes in healthcare. By combining expertise in healthcare with AI and product development, Tandem aims to create tools that meet the specific needs of healthcare providers.
One of Tandem’s key products is a sophisticated note-taking tool that automatically generates comprehensive medical records immediately after a patient consultation. These notes are customized to fit journal templates and seamlessly integrate with existing journal systems, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations such as the Patient Data Act and GDPR.
The founding team of Tandem includes Lukas Saari, CEO & Co-Founder, who previously led McKinsey’s Nordic practice for digitization & AI within healthcare and worked at Spotify with machine learning. The team also includes Oliver Åstrand, CTO & Co-Founder, an AI researcher at GoogleX & Uber with experience developing AI products at startups Depict & Mavenoid, and Oscar Boldt-Christmas, CCO & Co-Founder, who led McKinsey’s European healthcare practice as a Senior Partner with 20 years of healthcare experience.
With this new funding, Tandem is well-positioned to advance its mission of transforming healthcare delivery in Europe. The company’s focus on empowering clinicians and improving patient care makes it a promising player in the healthcare technology sector.
