Montpellier, France-based Wheere, a startup that specialises in developing indoor and outdoor location systems, announced that it has secured €11M in a fresh round of funding.
The investment came from Blast.Club, SOFILARO Capital Investissement, Bpifrance, and business Angels, including Arnaud Frey, Adrien Montfort, and Jacques Arthur Essebag.
The French company says it will use the funds to accelerate its growth and further develop its indoor and outdoor location systems.
Wheere: Revolutionising geolocation
Wheere was created in 2019 by engineers Pierre-Arnaud Coquelin (CEO) and Antoine Carrabin (CTO), who had, in 2019, a revolutionary idea to solve the localisation universal problem.
The French company claims to have pioneered a revolutionary geolocation technology.
Wheere’s technology offers precise metric localisation capabilities, both indoors and outdoors, distinguishing it from GPS, which primarily functions outdoors.
To ensure comprehensive coverage, only a few antennas are required, with as few as 6 antennas needed to effectively span a 5 km x 5 km area.
Individuals and devices slated for localisation are equipped with compact trackers weighing less than 100 grams. This cutting-edge technology enables precise tracking within a < 1-metre accuracy threshold, regardless of the location, be it indoors, outdoors, in basements, forests, or GPS-denied areas.
Wheere plans to establish a new industry standard for geolocation by developing a specialised ASIC chip, expanding its presence in major global cities, and launching a constellation of satellites.
In the world of deep technology, Wheere operates with a highly skilled technical team consisting of top experts in RF, embedded electronics, and signal processing.
