Canada-based Aduro Clean Technologies, a patented water-based technology developer that converts waste plastics, heavy bitumen, and renewable oils into valuable resources, announced that it has established its European subsidiary in Geleen, the Netherlands.
The company says it chose the Netherlands due to its strong regional relationships, including successful partnerships with Brightlands Chemelot Campus and Chemelot Innovation and Learning Labs.
Called Aduro Clean Technologies Europe (ACTE), it will focus on advancing the Hydrochemolytic process for plastics upcycling (“HPU”) within the European market with the primary goal of constructing a future demonstration unit at the Brightlands site.
“Establishing a European hub is a significant stride in our strategic journey,” says Ofer Vicus, CEO of Aduro.
“It will not only allow us to better engage and serve our stakeholders in the region but also act as a catalyst for several strategic goals we have in Europe. We are very grateful for the collaborative partnerships we have already formed in the Netherlands such as the one we have with Brightlands, and we look forward to continuing to work together with our partners and to strengthen new regional partnerships to advance the circular economy and promote sustainable practices,” adds Vicus.
The company has already started assembling its European team and is in advanced discussions to hire key personnel.
The European team is expected to have a significant impact on the implementation of the company’s global strategy, which aligns with its business plan of becoming a leader in the sustainable transformation of waste plastics, heavy bitumen, and renewable oils.
Aduro Clean Technologies: What you need to know
Aduro Clean Technologies develops patented water-based technologies to recycle waste plastics chemically, convert heavy crude and bitumen into lighter and more valuable oil, and transform renewable oils into higher-value fuels or renewable chemicals.
The Hydrochemolytic technology relies on water as a critical agent in a chemistry platform that operates at relatively low temperatures and cost. This approach converts low-value feedstocks into resources for the 21st century.
