Paris-based Campus Fund, a fund dedicated to innovative startups founded by students or young graduates in France, announced that it has raised €1.5M in a second round of funding from over 50 executives, family offices, and funds.
The investors list includes Thierry Petit (co-founder of Showroomprivé), Justin Ziegler (co-founder of Priceminister), Jade Francine (co-founder of WeMaintain), as well as senior business executives like Guillaume Sarkozy, the former general director of Malakoff Mederic, reports Maddyness.
Campus Fund says it will utlise the latest capital injection to invest in 20 startups led by young entrepreneurs on campuses.
Campus Fund: Dedicated to startups by students/ young graduates
Nicolas Rizk and Romain Baranger founded Campus Fund in 2022 to break down the barriers associated with student entrepreneurship.
The young VC fund offers tailor-made financing (from €20 to €60k ), support and expertise structure to maximise the chances of success for student startups.
The micro VC was inspired by the American Dorm Room Fund model, the world’s first student investment fund, which has already proved the relevance of its thesis.
“We believe that student entrepreneurs are best placed to create disruptive innovations and that the large companies of tomorrow are created on campuses today. However, there was a real financing gap for this segment of the entrepreneurial population. We therefore wanted to create a French-style Dorm Room Fund, and to do so we spoke with all the funds that had launched into the niche in order to get their feedback and adapt the model to the specificities of the market.” says Nicolas Rizk, co-founder of Campus Fund.
To date, Campus Fund has already made seven investments out of which five are now public, including Kleep, Luniwave, Selvitys, Estale, and Meteory.
The VC fund is sector agnostic, however, they are focusing on Tech, B2B and scalable companies.
The French VC is planning to raise a second fund in 2025, according to Maddyness.
