Utrecht-based ilionx, an IT knowledge and implementation partner, announced on Thursday, June 15, that it has acquired Inergy, a Dutch startup that is a combination of data-driven software solutions, managed analytics and data platform implementations.
According to Inergy’s statement, the merged company will dominate the market for managed analytics and data services with 1,500 workers.
For the time being, Inergy will continue to function under its own identity.
All about data
Since 1999, Inergy has operated in the Dutch ICT industry, creating and overseeing complex data & analytics platforms, particularly in the retail, financial, and logistics sectors, to assist businesses extract value from data.
With its LIAS software portfolio, Inergy is also involved in municipal government. The goal of LIAS is to make planning and control data public for local governments.
Local governments’ GRC and privacy policies are supported and evaluated by the independent audit practice.
The firm says, “After the acquisition of LIAS in 2018, we joined forces with Frontin in June 2020 and SafeHarbour became part of Inergy in 2021 and acquired ISMS from SEP, strengthening the market leader position in local government with LIAS. All this with the motto ‘We Improve Performance’.”
Aim of this acquisition
With this deal, both companies will have access to a wider variety of solutions and expertise for their clients. Managed analytics services offered by Inergy, the LIAS software product suite for decentralised governments, and the Snowflake relationship mesh well with ilionx’s offerings.
The acquisition of ilionx will alse let Inergy to expand and scale. The goals of ilionx and Inergy is to focus on simple services that offer clarity to the complicated world of IT. The 170 workers of Inergy now have the chance to work on new, difficult projects at ilionx, further their careers, and acquire new skills.
Mathijs van Houweninge, Director and major shareholder of Inergy since 2010, says, “We now have access to many new areas of expertise and experience and great execution power on complex issues. With our joint portfolio, knowledge and experience we can give even better substance to our credo ‘We improve performance’. This step with ilionx is a wonderful follow-up to the buy-and-build phase that we went through with Main Capital in recent years.”
With this deal, Mathijs van Houweninge will remain as a shareholder and advisor and hand over the day-to-day management to Joost Henskens.
