Nem sgr, a private equity firm owned by distressed bank Banca Popolare di Vicenza is said to be close to be bought out by Swiss secondaries private equity firm Montana Capital Partners, Il Sole 24 Ore wrote.
The deal is happening while Banca Popolare di Vicenza is to be bought out by  Intesa Sanpaolo, together with the other distressed Veneto region bank Veneto Banca (see here the press release with a statement from Intesa’s ceo Carlo Messina). The deal value is said to be around 50 million euros.
Nem sgr now manages three private equity funds for a total AUM 276 million euros. The firm is actually investing the Nem Imprese II fund, with 115 million euros AUM, and the Industrial Opportunity Fund, with 131 million euros AUM, born from the merger of two mezzanine funds (Nem Mezzanine and Nem Mezzanine II). Finally the Nem Imprese fund, with 30 million euros AUM, is in its harvesting period and is managing its portofolio companies.
Nem sgr’s last investments were made in 2014 in Energon, active in the energy efficiency services for big buildings, and in the electronics produtcs maker Metasystem, together with Idea Efficienza Energetica fund, managed by Idea Capital Funds sgr.
This last investment has been partially divested alread in April 2015, when the two funds sold a 60% stake in Metasystem to Chinese group Deren (see here a previous post by BeBeez) and the final exit is expected to happen by the beginning of 2018.
As far as Montana Capital is concerned, the private equity firm is now investing its  Opportunity Secondary Program III which raised 406 million euros in 2015 and is currently managing the portfolios of its Annual Secondary Program I (83 million euros in 2013) and Annual Secondary Program II (103 millions in 2014).
