Equinox Three, the third investment veichle managed by Italian private equity firm Equinox founded by former top banker Salvatore Mancuso, is to be ready by the end of September, Mr. Mancuso himselft told Reuters some days ago speaking at a conference in Milan.
Mr. Mancuso has been preparing the new veichle for about an year. “Time was needed to structure the fund as if you raise more than 500 million euros you need a go-ahead by the EU, Anyway we are confident to launch the fund by the end of the month”, the manager said referring to the new AIFM (Alternative Investment Fund Manager) Directive.
Mr. Mancuso also said that the new fund won’t invest in Italian cooperative banks as the sector is going to consolidate in the next few months.
