Italian Naples-based private equity and venture capital operator Vertis sgr is now ready to work with its second venture capital fund which will be able to invest all over Italy. The new fund, named Vertis Venture 2 Tecnologie, will conduct venture and seed capital investments in mechatronics, robotics and automation sectors. The fund, which is still in fundraising, targets 60 million euros from investors.
Led by ceo Amedeo Giurazza, Vertis sgr has just opened a new office in Milan for managing the new fund for which managers Mauro Odorico and Nicola Redi have been hired (both coming from Quadrivio sgr’s TT Venture) , who will be respectively investment director and key manager of the new fund. Thanks to these two hirings Vertis sgr’s venture capital team is now the Italian team who conducted the higher number of seed and venture capital investments in the last 5 years with a track record of 33 deal for a total value of 70 million euros.
The new fund will be advised by a Venture Expert Committee, whose members will be well experienced people from international industry and finance sectors. The fund will also sign partnerships with Universities and research centers in order to develop its scouting activity.
