Polish IT firm Galaxy Systemy Informatyczne has become the first private company to purchase a quantum computer from IQM Quantum Computers.

The 54-qubit Radiance system will be delivered and installed by IQM at Galaxy’s headquarters in Zielona Góra, western Poland, in Q4 2026.

IQM Radiance

– IQM

Founded in 1998, Galaxy is an IT firm offering hardware and support services. The company will use the quantum computer for applications related to finance and energy markets and space technologies, the company said, with the system set to be made available to industry and academic users across Poland.

“The deployment of our quantum computer at Galaxy demonstrates that we are building enterprise-ready products enabling customers to build their own capabilities,” said Jan Goetz, CEO and co-founder of IQM Quantum Computers. “Every quantum computer we deploy makes the future more tangible for our customers who gain experience on their own infrastructure. Building such an ecosystem is based on Poland’s recognized, rich traditions in the fields of quantum physics, mathematics, and computer science.”

Jacek Michalski, CEO of Galaxy Systemy Informatyczne, added: “The installation of the IQM Radiance 54-qubit quantum computer in our data center is a turning point not only for Galaxy, but for the entire Polish digital economy. By choosing IQM’s superconducting technologies, we are committing to full technological sovereignty—having such advanced infrastructure on-site in Poland allows us to become independent of external cloud providers and guarantees the highest level of security for processed data as well as the development of algorithms and applications.”

Founded in Helsinki, Finland, in 2018, IQM brings full-stack quantum computers and applications to HPCs, research institutes, universities, and business enterprises. The company operates quantum data centers in Finland and Munich, Germany, offering cloud-based access to its systems. It has delivered quantum systems to supercomputing centers in South Korea, Poland, Italy, and Taiwan.

The company says it has sold 21 systems to 13 customers to date, including four other Radiance systems at LRZ in Germany, VTT in Finland, CINECA in Italy, and CESGA in Spain.

In February 2026, IQM announced plans to go public via a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) merger with Nasdaq-listed Real Asset Acquisition Corp. (RAAQ). The transaction provides IQM with a pre-money valuation of $1.8 billion, while the listing will see it become the first publicly traded European quantum company.
