German IT firm Alzura has bought a data center.
Alzura AG, a company that develops e-commerce systems, last week announced it had acquired the data center of an IT service provider in Thuringia.
Alzura is acquiring the property, including the land, as well as all technical assets at the site. All data center employees will also be retained.
Full details of the acquired facility weren’t shared. Terms of the deal weren’t provided.
The company said it was “laying another cornerstone for its long-term growth strategy and the consistent expansion of a high-performance, independent digital infrastructure.”
Alzura aims to migrate its entire IT infrastructure to its own hardware in company-owned data centers.
“This step was crucial for implementing our planned strong growth, both technically and economically. For our further development, this primarily means more performance, more control, and lower costs in the long term – without the typical limitations of traditional cloud solutions,” said Michael Saitow, CEO and founder of Alzura AG.
Thuringia is a state in central Germany. Erfurt is the capital and largest city, where EuNetworks operates a facility. The Thuringian State also operates its TLRZ computing center in Erfurt. Thuringian-based energy firms Thüringer Energie AG and launched an 800 sqm (8,611 sq ft) facility in Erfurt in 2021, operated by Thüringer Netkom.
Alzura is part of the Tyre 24 Group (formerly Saitow AG). Alzura acquired German IT firm TEC Systems Systemhaus GmbH in 2024.
Alzura offers B2B marketplaces, ERP systems, and e-commerce systems. Many of its offerings are focused on automotive services, including tires and auto repairs.
