European operator NorthC has acquired land outside Frankfurt, Germany, for a planned data center development.
Local press in Germany reports Frankfurt-based family office Lugman Capital GmbH has sold a development site of approximately to NorthC, which plans to build a data center there.
The site, at Dornhofstraße 14 in Neu-Isenburg, totals around 9,500 sqm (102,260 sq ft). The first phase of the modular prefabricated site could reportedly go live next year.
Neu-Isenburg is located some 8km (5 miles) south of Frankfurt. The site currently houses industrial warehouse space.
On its website, NorthC lists a planned facility at Dornhofstraße 14, known as Frankfurt 2. The company says the 5,800 sqm (62,430 sq ft) facility would offer 4.5MW in phase one across 1,830 sqm (29,700 sq ft) of white space. The first phase could be live as soon as Q1 2027.
The site could eventually reach 4,270 sqm (45,861 sq ft) and 10.5 MW across 14 modules, each measuring 305 sqm (3,282 sq ft) and offering 750kW in an N+1 configuration.
NorthC says the site will include green facades and rainwater harvesting, and make its waste heat available to local heating networks.
NorthC was formed in 2019 from the merger of Dutch data center firms TDCG and NLDC, originally a subsidiary of Dutch telecoms company KPN. Antin Infrastructure Partners acquired the company in December 2025.
Recent years have seen NorthC expanding to other European countries, buying Netrics in Switzerland and the IP Exchange in Germany. It recently acquired a number of facilities across the Netherlands and Germany from Colt Technology Services.
The company currently has more than a dozen data centers across the Netherlands, eight in Germany, and four in Switzerland, with more in development in all three markets.
NorthC first announced plans to develop a 5MW data center in Frankfurt in January 2024, but didn’t provide many details. The company announced plans for a second in the city in December 2024 that would offer 1.5MW at launch and 10.5MW at full build-out.
The company currently operates the Frankfurt 3 facility at Rüsselsheimer Straße 22. The 900kW site was a former CenturyLink/Lumen site taken over when NorthC acquired a number of European facilities from Colt last year. Colt acquired Lumen’s EMEA operations in 2023.
Across Germany, NorthC operates facilities in Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Nuremberg, and Munich.
Lugman Group is a single-family office specializing in real estate and digital infrastructure.
