BeBeez Trading Floor roundup with eToro support about the performances of private capital firms listed on global exchanges.

Donald Trump‘s repeated claims on Greenland prompted the US European Union’s former partners to threaten to resort to anti-coercion mechanisms, spreading the belief among markets that a trade war with unpredictable outcomes started on both sides of the Atlantic.

Market participants carried on a short but intense panic selling that ended after Trump scaled back its bellicose intentions towards the EU. The weekly performance of listed private capital firms indicates that few stocks closed the week higher for purely technical factors. However, this general decline, a return to normality and an unchanged macroeconomic backdrop, especially in terms of interest rate expectations, suggest that several good opportunities are available.

NYSE-listed BDC Trinity Capital (+1.9%) increased its market capitalization after having announced a strong increase in its 2025 activity. The firm invested 1.5 billion US Dollars of 2.1 billion US Dollars new commitments it attracted (press release). Trinity Capital also said it will pay dividends monthly.

Between 2024 and the end of 2025, London-listed HarbourVest Global Private Equity (+1.6%) carried on an aggressive 183 million shares buyback to reduce the discount relative to NAV, to meet shareholders’ demands. Furthermore, analysts recently increased by 35% the firm’s target price and set it at 48.3 US Dollars from previous 35,6 US Dollars.

Investors also have a positive sentiment about Paris-listed Wendel (+1.5%), the former family office of the eponymous entrepreneurs, which said that in 2026 it will launch a buyback worth 300 million euros or 9% of share capital ahead of generating a cash flow of 7 billion by 2030. Furthermore, Wendel’s subsidiary IK partners (UK private equity) and Monroe Capital (private credit USA) attracted commitments of 11 billion US Dollars (press release).
