Spicerhaart strengthens lettings leadership team

Spicerhaart has announced a new leadership structure across its lettings division, with managing director Sat Basi joined by two additional managing directors, Kelly-Anne Flynn and Lee Ashley.
Basi, who has built the lettings arm of Spicerhaart over many years, will now focus on growing the North lettings market. Ashley will oversee lettings growth across the south, while Flynn will take national responsibility for property management and lettings operations, including compliance, systems and service delivery.
The trio will work across all Spicerhaart brands – haart, Butters John Bee, Darlows, Haybrook, Felicity J Lord, Howards and Chewton Rose.
Basi, who joined the business in 2007, said the expanded leadership team gives the business the stability and scalability it needs for the next phase of growth.
He commented: “We are very clear on our strategic growth targets, including building our lettings book to 50,000 occupied units and acquiring new business.
“With the changes coming into the sector and the scale of our ambition, it was important to align our structure with the rest of the Spicerhaart group and create a broader base of senior expertise.

“This gives us the platform not only to grow organically, but also to absorb future acquisitions and adapt confidently to a changing external landscape.”
Flynn, who has spent almost two decades with the business after starting her career as a lettings assistant in south Wales, said: “This is about preparing the business to be the very best it can be.
“There is a lot of change coming, and having a dedicated focus on property management and operations ensures we have the right processes, technology and people in place to deliver great customer outcomes.
“Strong foundations enable people to perform, and for me the most important part of this role is supporting and developing our teams through that change.
“I’ve always been incredibly passionate about people. Helping them feel confident, supported and equipped to do their best – especially in challenging environments – is what drives performance and long-term success.”

Ashley, who joined Spicerhaart earlier this year as a Residential Lettings Sales Director, brings more than 25 years’ experience spanning high street estate agency, large corporate environments and global residential investment.
He added: “What really drew me back to the high street was the energy of working with people on the ground in the communities they live in. That branch-level engagement is the most rewarding part of this industry.
“Between the three of us, we bring very different skill sets, which gives the business a much broader scope and depth as we scale.”
Antony Lark, Joint Group CEO of Spicerhaart, said: “We’re incredibly ambitious about the future of our lettings business and this leadership evolution reflects that confidence. By expanding the senior team, we’re giving ourselves the structure and firepower to scale, innovate and support growth across our national network.
“It’s a proactive step that positions us strongly for what comes next, while staying true to our people-first culture and customer-focused approach.”
Housemark appoints CIH expert to lead Scotland
Housemark has appointed Mike Dougan as senior account manager for Scotland.
Dougan joined the organisation on 1 December 2025 after more than two years as engagement manager Scotland at the Chartered Institute of Housing.
Based in Edinburgh, he brings extensive experience of working with registered social landlords, local authorities, sector bodies and professional networks, most recently with CIH Scotland.
Dougan commented: “I believe in social good and in the positive change the housing sector can create. If we want to build lasting impact we need a clear understanding of the market, the pressures shaping it and the needs of the organisations and tenants within it. Robust data is fundamental to that. It enables transparency, collaboration and better decisions. We do not have the luxury of getting these decisions wrong and for me this is where I can help. I am proud to join Housemark and be part of the solution.”
He added: “As a long-serving member of the CIH Scotland team and a fellow Scot, I have been fortunate to work with some of the most dedicated professionals in the Scottish housing sector who are doing vital work in challenging times. If we want to maximise return on investment and demonstrate real impact, we have to do so with the very best data. I am looking forward to supporting landlords with high-quality insight that reflects their needs and helps deliver positive change.”
Rob Griffiths, Chief Executive of Housemark, said: “As landlords work to tackle the housing emergency declared by the Scottish government last year, we can help more Scottish landlords to use data in ways that improve services and create better homes for tenants.
“Mike brings trusted relationships, local sector knowledge and a clear commitment to our values that matter to our customers. He will help us strengthen our presence in Scotland and ensure more landlords can benefit from data, insight and the context that Housemark provides.”
