Debitos has successfully advised a leading financial institution on the sale of a portfolio of small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) loans with a volume exceeding €300 million. Due to very tight timelines and regulatory challenges, the institution once again decided to rely on the secondary market specialist Debitos— a decision that once again proved to be a strategic advantage.

The financial institution leveraged Debitos’ digital marketplace solution, building on excellent experiences from previous transactions. The speed at which the transaction was executed is remarkable: from the selection of potential investors to the choice of the suitable buyer, only a few weeks passed. At the same time, all compliance requirements were met, and the new German Secondary Credit Market Act (Kreditzweitmarktgesetz) was taken into account when selecting investors and servicers.

A representative of the selling institution commented:
“Our decision to work with Debitos again was based on the proven efficiency of the platform. The speed of the process—from the targeted approach to investors to the successful closing in just a few weeks—demonstrates the effectiveness of the digital secondary market.”

The transparent and competitive auction structure of Debitos made it possible to identify a suitable investor and achieve an optimal purchase price in a very short period of time. Through the platform, a large number of institutional investors from across Europe were specifically targeted, maximizing competition and therefore the outcome of the sales process.

Timur Peters, CEO of Debitos GmbH, commented:
“Being mandated again by a leading financial institution underscores the trust placed in our technology, expertise, and extensive buyer network. Transactions like these demonstrate that digitalization in portfolio management is not only a matter of efficiency, but also a key factor in successfully meeting regulatory requirements.”

About Debitos:

Founded in 2010, Debitos GmbH is Europe’s leading online platform for the sale of loan receivables and real estate assets via auction processes. With more than €10 billion in transaction volume and over 2,100 registered investors with more than €50 billion in available capital, Debitos offers an efficient and transparent marketplace for financial institutions and investors.
