Lomond has strengthened its fast-paced expansion drive with a second acquisition in the space of a week, further extending the group’s footprint across the UK property sector. The latest deal builds on the company’s active buy-and-build strategy, which has seen it secure a series of regional lettings and estate agency businesses over the past year.
The newest addition to the group is Littlejohns, one of Edinburgh’s longest-established lettings agents, which will be integrated into DJ Alexander, Lomond’s flagship brand in the region. The announcement comes just 24 hours after Lomond revealed the strategic acquisition of Right Let Leeds, whose portfolio will now be managed under its Yorkshire flagship, Linley & Simpson.
The purchase of Littlejohns, founded in 1879, also follows Lomond’s acquisition of Margaret Duffus Leasing in Edinburgh earlier this summer.
David Alexander, chief revenue officer of Lomond, commented: “Having known the owners and team at Littlejohns for many years, I’ve always been impressed by how they’ve grown while maintaining that personal, people-first approach to business. It’s a real privilege to continue their legacy and build on such a proud history, with values that align so closely to our own at DJ Alexander.”
Ian Shand, owner of Littlejohns, remarked: “Owning this well-established business for the past 25 years has been incredibly rewarding. Building lasting relationships with both our team and our clients has always been at the heart of our success and growth.
“This now feels like the right time to retire and pass the business to a person and organisation we trust to care for our clients as we have.
“In an evolving legislative landscape, we are confident their needs will be best served by a larger group with the scale, technology and expertise to support them into the future.”
