Neocloud Nscale and investor Aker have purchased land in Fauske, northern Norway, for a data center project.
As reported by NRK in October, the land includes the old trotting track in the municipality.
The site currently has a grid connection of 13MW of capacity, but Nscale is currently assessing the property. To expand it further, the site would need additional grid capacity from Statnett. According to NRK, the company aims to launch sometime in 2027. Work is hoped to begin in 2025.
The site is the Åsmyra Industripark AS, purchased from Norwegian holding company Norsk Data. Norsk Data also recently sold another data center to a new provider, Fossefall.
Nscale, in partnership with investment firm Aker, is also planning a 250MW data center in Narvik and a 230MW data center in Kvandal.
Nscale was formed in May 2024, spun out from cryptomining firm Arkon Energy. It operates a 30MW data center in Glomfjord Industrial Park, with plans to double capacity to 60MW. Aker invested 2.8 billion kroner ($274 million) in the company in September 2025, making it one of the largest shareholders.
Fauske is located in Nordland county in the north of Norway. Most of Norway’s data centers are located around Oslo, the country’s capital.
