Latvian fleet management provider Mapon is entering the Irish market through the full acquisition of Fleet DATA (Envirokind Limited), an established Galway-based fleet management company founded in 2012. Both companies specialize in GPS tracking, fleet management, safety cameras, and digital tachograph solutions, helping businesses optimize operations, enhance safety, and meet sustainability goals. With Fleet DATA’s 13 years of market experience and local expertise, Mapon will strengthen its foothold in Western Europe while ensuring service continuity for existing Fleet DATA clients. The Irish team, led by founder Stephen Connell, will now operate as Mapon’s local branch, reinforcing the company’s growing presence across the Nordics, Baltics, and Western Europe.
Both Mapon and Fleet DATA offer fleet management, GPS tracking, safety cameras, and digital tachograph solutions, helping clients efficiently manage their resources, improve road safety, and promote sustainable corporate governance. With this acquisition, Mapon will expand its presence and customer base in Ireland, while also strengthening its team with experts who have extensive experience in the Irish market.
“This transaction marks an exciting new chapter in Fleet DATA’s development. Joining the Mapon team will allow us to accelerate growth, expand opportunities, and further grow our team here in Ireland. Our clients can continue to rely on the innovative fleet management solutions and support we’ve been providing since Fleet DATA was founded in Galway in 2012,” said Stephen Connell, Founder and Managing Director of Fleet DATA, who will now lead Mapon’s Irish branch.
Mapon has previously made similar acquisitions to expand its market share in Europe, acquiring companies in Estonia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, and Denmark.
“Fleet DATA has thirteen years of experience in the industry, so integrating their clients – and most importantly, their expertise and know-how – into Mapon will be extremely valuable for our joint future success in the Irish market. Previous acquisitions have proven that this growth strategy is effective in achieving great results,” said Mapon CEO Davis Siksnans, noting that the company already has offices in the Baltic states, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Spain and partner network worldwide.
In early 2024, Mapon raised €3 million through the Nasdaq Baltic market from both private and institutional investors to finance acquisitions.
“Congratulations to Mapon on entering the Irish market and expanding its operations in Western Europe. This transaction perfectly illustrates the growing two-way investment flow between Latvia and Ireland, as well as the increasingly close cooperation in the field of technology. I am proud of the success of this Latvian company and wish Mapon every success in achieving its goals in Ireland,” commented Juris Štālmeistars, Ambassador of Latvia to Ireland.
Draugiem Group company Mapon is one of the leading fleet management and asset tracking solution providers in Northern Europe, with almost 20 years of experience. The company is trusted by more than 31,000 clients and has a wide network of partners across Europe, the U.S., Latin America, Australia, and Africa. The Mapon team consists of over 200 professionals working in offices in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Spain. The company’s turnover reached €19.7 million in 2024.
