Independent estate agency Tailormade Moves has expanded its portfolio by 200 properties following the acquisition of Scottish Highland Property Services (SHP) in Inverness.

The deal follows the retirement of SHP’s owner, Ewen Smith, who steps down after nearly four decades in the property industry. Based at The Greenhouse in Inverness, Tailormade Moves has also welcomed three members of the SHP team as part of the transition.
The acquisition marks a significant growth step for Tailormade Moves in the Highland lettings and property management sector, as it almost doubles its letting offering across Inverness and Ross-shire.
Smith said: “After nearly 40 years in the property industry – 33 of those since founding Scottish Highland Property Services – I’ve finally been persuaded to retire.
“Like SHP, Tailormade Moves are a locally owned, independent firm, not a franchise or part of a national group, and I chose them specifically for their shared values, commitment to customer service and strong local connections.
Karine MacRae-Simpson, director of Tailormade Moves, added: “It’s taken us 12 years to get over 200 managed properties and we had been looking at an acquisition for a while.
“This has allowed us to double our portfolio. The business will remain the same for tenants and all the landlords.
“SHP’s values aligned with ours in terms of customer service and we are delighted to welcome Liz, Lorraine and John into the team at Tailormade Moves.
“We are looking forward to this next chapter and wish Ewen a happy retirement.”
