Liverpool-based Berkeley Shaw Real Estate has acquired Paul James Lettings in Aintree, as part of its ongoing strategy to expand both its geographic reach and service offering. The move comes shortly after Berkeley Shaw’s purchase of Cheshire-based Adams Estate Agents.
The acquisition adds over 150 properties to Berkeley Shaw’s lettings portfolio, primarily across Aintree, Old Roan, and Maghull in North Liverpool.
Owner Paul Dixon will join Berkeley Shaw at its head office on Old Haymarket in Liverpool city centre. His Longmoor Lane office will close and be offered for sale or lease, complementing Berkeley Shaw’s existing presence in nearby Maghull.
“We’re delighted to welcome Paul into our team. He brings additional depth to the expertise we have available and we can reciprocate by offering enhanced technology and additional services to his valued clients,” said John Baybut, managing director of Berkeley Shaw.
“The deal helps grow our managed portfolio, which now stands at 4,400 units,” added Baybut.
Welcoming the deal, Paul Dixon said: “Joining forces with Berkeley Shaw means my clients will benefit from the resources and expertise of a RICS-regulated firm, whilst being in the hands of a great team that knows this part of north Liverpool extremely well.
“It’ll be a pleasure to work alongside Rachael Doyle and her team and to be able to cover more of my clients’ property needs with the firm’s wider service offer.”
Samanthan Pickover and Benjamin Dredge of CG Professional provided legal advice to Berkeley Shaw Real Estate. DTM Legal were advisors to the vendor. Rebecca Richards of accountants Xeinadin also advised Berkeley Shaw on the acquisition.
