Bilbao-based startup Nymiz, which helps organisations embed privacy directly into their data infrastructure, has raised €2 million in a funding round led by Amsterdam-based TIN Capital. The round also saw participation from existing investors Swanlaab Venture Factory, Auriga Cyber Ventures, SWG Cyber & Defence Fund and CDTI. The investment comes just a year after Nymiz’s 2024 seed round and will support the company’s goal of positioning “Privacy as Infrastructure” while expanding across Europe ahead of its planned US launch.
Founded in 2020, Nymiz has developed an AI-powered platform that automates data anonymisation and pseudonymisation, allowing companies to go beyond compliance and integrate privacy protections directly into their systems. By doing so, it enables organisations to unlock the value of their data securely and responsibly, a capability that has become increasingly critical as AI technologies raise new concerns around data use and regulation.
The company already serves more than 70 enterprise clients across sectors such as finance, legal, healthcare and public administration, reflecting the rising importance of privacy-first infrastructure in today’s data-driven economy.
“We’re excited to support CEO Óscar Villanueva and the team at Nymiz,” said Bart Houlleberghs, Partner at TIN Capital. “This investment aligns with our mission to back Europe’s most promising cybersecurity and privacy-tech scaleups. Nymiz stands out with a strong team, clear product-market fit, and global ambition.”
With the new funding, Nymiz plans to strengthen the operational foundation of its platform and prepare for broader international visibility in 2026.
“This round is about building the operational foundation of the Nymiz Platform and preparing for the international visibility we’ll pursue in 2026,” said Óscar Villanueva, CEO and Co-founder of Nymiz. “With the support of TIN Capital, Swanlaab, Auriga, and our other investors, we’re uniquely positioned to take our vision of Privacy as Infrastructure global.”
Nymiz is part of a growing European movement focused on building privacy-first technology. By rethinking how data privacy is integrated into digital systems, the company aims to make privacy a strategic advantage and a cornerstone of the modern data economy.
