A new Dutch data center operator has launched.
New firm House of Data launched this week, claiming to offer “AI-powered site selection” to identify sites with available capacity.
On its website, the company claims to have two sites in development around the Amsterdam and Rotterdam areas of the Netherlands, totaling 12MW+ of capacity. Further details weren’t shared.
House of Data said it has been backed by seed funding from Today Real Estate Development, a Dutch real estate development firm founded in 2014. The company says it has been involved with more than 40 projects to date – mainly light industrial developments – totaling more than 280,000 sqm (3.01 million sq ft).
Maarten den Hartoog and Max van Eck of Today, and Thijs Algra are named as House of Data co-founders. Algra was previously a director at fashion tech startup Otrium.
“Europe’s digital future is being slowed down by a shortage of data center capacity. We’re changing that. At House of Data, we built an AI tool that identifies locations with electricity available and development potential that others miss. At these sites, we will develop data centers and scale towards a European infrastructure platform that can meet the accelerating demand from AI and cloud,” van Eck said on LinkedIn.
