Tallinn-based Sera AI has raised a €1.5 million seed round to expand internationally. The round was led by Maki VC, with participation from Specialist VC, Ready Player Me co-founder Kaspar Tiri, and Bolt founder Markus Villig. Sera develops an AI-powered sales agent designed to automate prospecting, research, and personalized outreach, aiming to reduce repetitive tasks in B2B sales. The company says its technology is already in use by both tech firms and manufacturing companies, and it plans to use the new funding to grow its marketing and extend its reach into new markets.
Sera AI develops an AI-powered sales agent designed to automate prospecting, background research, and outreach in B2B sales. The platform focuses on reducing repetitive manual work by identifying potential buyers, gathering relevant information, and generating personalized communication across multiple languages. Sera’s technology is used by both technology firms and mid-sized manufacturing companies to support international business development.
“Sera has been on our radar since day one. Their speed, adaptability, and distinctive product vision convinced us quickly that they’re out to build something category-defining. At Maki.vc, we back founders with that kind of ambition — and we’re proud to partner with team Sera,” said Caroline Gattner, Investment Manager at Maki VC.
AI has transformed sales automation – but not always for the better. The rise of poorly targeted, AI-generated outreach has turned inboxes into spam folders, damaging trust and making it harder for companies to reach real buyers. Sera is taking the opposite approach: an AI sales agent that prioritizes precision, personalization, and qualification over volume.
“The difference is simple: most AI tools blast, Sera qualifies,” said Sergio Rannula, co-founder and CEO. “Sera was engineered to eliminate the soul-crushing grunt work of sales – the research, list building, and personalization that steal at least 15 hours a week from the average sales rep. Our AI delivers 5× higher qualification rates than the industry standard because it thinks like a human salesperson, not a spam bot. The Estonian way is to build a strong product, keep the noise low, and deliver measurable value.”
Sera is already trusted by leading tech names like Bolt, Ready Player Me, and Montonio. But its most powerful use cases have been in mid-sized manufacturing companies reliant on export, where Sera has helped companies secure new international partners – bringing in millions in additional revenue.
For these clients, the ROI is irrefutable: one deal secured via Sera can be worth millions, while consistently beating the cost of hiring extra sales staff.
Sera’s AI agent works globally, accessing a verified database of over one billion contacts across 300+ million companies. It automatically identifies the best-fit buyers, conducts background research, and sends personalized outreach – in multiple languages and tailored to each recipient.
“Today, Sera is already the leading AI sales agent on the market. Our next step is to surpass the world’s top human sales specialists – it’s only a matter of time,” added Karl Maaroos, co-founder and CTO.
With the new funding, Sera will double down on marketing and international expansion.
