Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice and Global Private Capital Industry Group with the addition of Laura Kayani and Nick Matthew as partners in London.
“Private equity is a strategic priority for White & Case and the addition of Laura and Nicholas as partners in London, the world’s second largest private equity market, demonstrates our commitment to meeting the growing demand from our clients to support their key deals,” said White & Case partner Thierry Bosly, co-head of the Firm’s Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. “Following the recent arrival of leading private equity partner Helen Croke, adding Laura and Nick represents further growth in our strong private equity team in London and across EMEA more broadly.”
Laura advises private equity sponsors, strategic investors and portfolio companies on international and domestic investments, acquisitions, disposals, carve-outs, co-investments and restructurings. Nick advises US and European private equity sponsors, strategic investors and portfolio companies on acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, co-investments and restructurings. The lawyers join White & Case from Ropes & Gray, where they were counsel, and each bring more than ten years of experience.
“Our record financial performance in 2024, when the Firm’s revenue surpassed US$3 billion for the first time, was in part driven by the strong performance of our Global Private Capital Industry Group,” said White & Case partner and Vice Chair Oliver Brettle. “As Laura and Nick reunite with Helen Croke, we again show our determination to build globally and ensure White & Case is best placed to support our clients as they pursue their key business goals.”
White & Case has continued to expand its investment funds and private equity capabilities in EMEA, with the recent addition in London of funds partners Emily Brown, Alex Chauvin and Lavanya Raghavan from Ropes & Gray and private equity partners Helen Croke from Ropes & Gray and Henry Birch from Kirkland & Ellis, and private equity partners Giovanni Spedicato in Milan from Latham & Watkins and Sonia Tubiana in Paris from Freshfields.
