White & Case advises bluu unit on acquisition of KKL

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised bluu unit GmbH (bluu unit), a portfolio company of Triton Smaller Mid-Cap Fund II, on the acquisition of KKL Holding GmbH (KKL). Through this transaction, bluu unit acquires one of Germany’s most renowned specialists in refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation technology and data centre solutions, meeting its objective of offering high-quality and future-ready solutions throughout Germany that are better for people and the environment.

The transaction is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025.

KKL employs over 300 people at its locations in Düsseldorf, Cologne and Stuttgart (Ebersbach an der Fils) and generates annual revenue exceeding €80 million. The company manages projects in all industries, with a strong focus on data centres.

bluu unit’s range of services includes providing innovative technologies and natural refrigerants as part of the Natural Refrigeration Alliance and extends from consulting and project planning to installation and maintenance. So far in 2025, four groups with seven independent specialist companies and more than 180 employees have already joined the alliance.

Triton, a leading European mid-market sector-specialist investor, was founded in 1997. Triton focuses on investing in companies that provide business-critical goods and services in its three core areas of business services, industrial tech and healthcare.
