Midas has given the green light to use Olean’s plant-based dielectric fluid in its immersion tanks.
The companies this week announced that after testing, Oleon’s Qloe fluids have been officially approved for use in Midas’ immersion systems.
“Data centers shouldn’t have to choose between density and sustainability,” said Scott Sickmiller, CEO of Midas Immersion. “By combining Midas’ proven immersion platforms with Oleon’s Qloe fluid, customers gain reliable thermal headroom with renewable, biodegradable chemistry—ready for AI at scale.”
“The collaboration with Midas has been great,” said Maarten Trautmann, data center fluids Lead at Oleon. “Midas has a long history of immersion cooling deployments, and we’ve proven the compatibility of our systems, with a drive to sustainability and performance. I look forward to collaborating with Midas on a global scale.”
Oleon is a subsidiary of Avril, a French firm specializing in the development of green chemicals. It launched Qloe earlier this year, which it says is fully biodegradable and non-toxic, while offering high-performance cooling to data center operators.
The fluid provider has previously partnered with AI Green Bytes, which will use Qloe in an upcoming data center in Paris, France.
Founded in 2010, Texas-based Midas offers 12U and 50U immersion tanks, as well as offerings tailored for cryptomining hardware and immersion cooling container modules. Its 50U XCI system can cool up to 150kW. The company says it has deployed more than 500MW of installed capacity.
Midas has previously partnered with fluid provider Castrol.
Midas recently announced it was launching a new rugged immersion tank for military uses.
