Lausanne-based Flybotix, a robotics company specialising in drone-based solutions for the inspection of confined-space of industrial and civilian assets, announced that it has raised almost €8.5 million in a Series A extension round.
The financing was led by a family office with a strong focus on technology investments, with the participation of existing investors led by Greeneering Invest AG.
“This financing represents a major milestone for Flybotix. We are thrilled to welcome our new investors and deeply grateful for the continued support of our existing ones. This vote of confidence in the Flybotix team, backed by new funding, will help accelerate the global deployment of the ASIO solution, enhance its capabilities, and enable us to deliver safer, more efficient inspection solutions for industries where reliability is essential,” said Samir Bouabdallah, CEO & Co-Founder of Flybotix.
Founded in 2019 by Samir Bouabdallah and Alexandre Cherpillod, Flybotix’s mission is to reduce risks for humans & the planet.
Its flagship ASIO solution combines advanced, patented drone technology with a dedicated SaaS platform, reportedly enabling safer and more efficient inspections across multiple sectors such as energy production and water infrastructure. With the longest flight time on the market, greater payload capacity, and an integrated software ecosystem that delivers actionable insights, ASIO looks to set a new standard for industrial inspection.
According to the company, confined space inspections are still among the most dangerous tasks, with injuries and deaths reported every year. Flybotix’s ASIO X drone reduces the need for workers to enter critical assets such as water infrastructure, power plants, and oil & gas facilities, significantly improving safety.
It also enables inspections to be carried out more regularly and with higher precision, helping operators identify integrity issues early and prevent costly downtime or even large-scale failures such as sinkholes.
Since its inception, Flybotix has made significant strides, including the launch in summer 2024 of the ASIO X, its second-generation drone-based solution, that builds on the company’s technology and adds Flybotix own SaaS offering.
The company has also broadened its distributor network to more than 30 countries and established partnerships with municipalities and large groups across various sectors.
The additional funding will enable Flybotix to scale the commercialisation pipeline, accelerate product development and expand its team to meet growing demand for safer and more efficient indoor inspections.
