Portus Data Centers has secured a new Chief Executive Officer.
The European regional Edge operator this week announced the appointment of Falk Weinreich as its new Group CEO.
He joins Portus from OVHcloud, where he was general manager, Central Europe, responsible for the European cloud provider’s expansion and operational management. Prior to that, he was at Colt for more than a decade.
“Portus Data Centers has quickly positioned itself as one of the most important providers in the regional colocation sector,” Weinreich said. “We want to leverage this momentum to further expand our presence and develop new capacities. Together with Arcus as a strategic partner, we are investing in energy-efficient infrastructure solutions close to our customers and are specifically strengthening key technology and business locations.”
Portus Data Centers operates data centers in regional markets including Munich, Hamburg, and Luxembourg.
Adriaan Oosthoek, chairman of Portus Data Centers, added: “We are thrilled to get Falk on board at Portus Data Centers. Customer demand is very strong and the business is at a real inflection point now that we have started substantial expansions in various markets, so Falk will add tremendous value driving the business forward and helping it grow and prosper.”
Arcus Infrastructure Partners formed Portus last year, rolling up Luxembourg’s European Data Hub with German operators SDC SpaceNet DataCenter and Internet Port Hamburg. The company is expanding all three sites, and is looking for further buy-and-build opportunities across Germany and neighboring countries.
