Oslo-based healthtech startup Journalia has raised USD 1 million in a funding round backed by Altitude Capital, Snefred, and Ystholmen, as it looks to scale its AI-powered clinical documentation platform. The company’s solution automatically generates clinical notes for doctors, psychologists, and physiotherapists after consultations, helping free up time for patient care. The fresh capital will go toward product development, international expansion, and building out the team, with plans to hire across technology, business development, sales, and operations.
Journalia provides AI-assisted medical journaling solutions for clinics and individual practitioners. The platform is designed to streamline record keeping by automatically transcribing and structuring consultation notes, while ensuring patient data security through encryption and automatic deletion within 24 hours. Journalia offers customized plans tailored to clinic size and needs, with pricing models aimed at making digital documentation accessible to healthcare providers.
Co-founder and CEO Petter Moen, formerly AI consultant at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and CPO at 24SevenOffice, says:
“So far, we have focused on automating clinical notes, but the potential of AI in healthcare is enormous. from diagnostics to decision support. We are following developments closely and will evaluate this as part of our future roadmap.”
Having already tested its platform with Norwegian healthcare provider Dr.Dropin and signed its first paying customers earlier this year, Journalia now aims to establish one of the strongest AI healthcare environments in Europe.
“We aim to build the strongest AI environment in healthcare in Europe. We will hire 4–5 people in tech, business development, and sales, as well as a COO. Once the team is in place, we will ramp up growth,” says Moen.
