Copenhagen-based ConTech startup Acembee has secured €1.2 million in funding to expand its platform for energy monitoring and compliance in the construction sector. The round was led by node.vc, with participation from Kiilto Ventures and several angel investors. Founded in 2022, Acembee develops AI tools that collect and analyse on-site energy data to support contractors in meeting new regulatory requirements, such as Denmark’s cap on construction emissions. The new capital will be directed toward further product development, scaling customer adoption, and preparing for expansion into European markets.
Acembee addresses the construction sector’s growing need for digital tools that support sustainability and regulatory compliance. The company has developed an AI-driven platform that gathers energy data from sources such as smart meters, utility bills, and on-site sensors. This data is then processed to generate automated lifecycle assessment reports and compliance documentation, enabling contractors to meet increasingly strict climate regulations without relying on manual reporting and disconnected systems.
The platform is also designed to give construction managers real-time insights into energy use and identify opportunities to reduce consumption while maintaining site operations. Early adopters have reported notable efficiency gains, including lower energy waste and simplified compliance processes. With construction ranked among the most carbon-intensive and least digitised industries, Acembee’s work sits at the intersection of digital transformation and environmental policy, responding to regulatory shifts like Denmark’s cap on CO₂ emissions during building projects.
“This is a huge moment for us. We’ve poured our hard work into getting here, and this investment means we can help even more construction companies unlock the benefits of AI and reduce emissions,” says Oline Ryberg Stærke, CEO and Co-founder of Acembee. “We’re not just building a product. We’re helping an entire industry move forward.”
Acembee’s recent funding round drew attention from investors with experience in both technology and sustainability. Leading the round, Stockholm-based node.vc highlighted the startup’s rapid development and traction in a sector that has traditionally been slow to adopt digital solutions.
“We love investing in teams that solve complex problems in industries that have been slow to change. What sets Acembee apart is how quickly they’ve moved from idea to real-world traction. That kind of momentum is rare in this space,” says Henrik Tellving, Partner at node.vc.
