Amsterdam-based HospitalityTech startup Toppi has completed its first investment round of almost €1 million, according to information obtained by EU-Startups. This will accelerate product development, strengthen its team, and scale its AI-powered solutions for the hospitality sector.
The round was led by X Investments with Ollie Dapper and William van Lith.
“What began with guidance from Ollie and William has grown into a partnership we’re proud of,” says Co-founder Will Everingham. “With fresh capital, an expanded leadership team, and new hires, we’re ready to take the next step.”
Founded in 2024 by Will Everingham and Lars van Tilburg, Toppi helps restaurants, cafés, bars, and hotels turn online impressions into real-world guests.
Toppi is in the process of offering two products:
- Toppi Essential – An AI platform that takes care of online visibility. Simple, affordable, and built to help hospitality businesses grow.
- Toppi Co-pilot – This combines Toppi’s AI solutions with their on-demand services.
In just 18 months, more than 200 hospitality businesses have used Toppi to boost visibility, fill empty seats, and grow sustainably.
Clients have reported 206% increase in profile views, 172% increase in website clicks, and 89% increase in direction requests.
“We’re using Toppi for almost two years now. It helped us triple our visibility on Google and we rank on ChatGPT for our most important keywords,” said Roos Oostdam, Owner, Roos Taste & Smile.
The company says the challenge for restaurants is clear: consumer behaviour is shifting fast in the age of AI. Search is changing how guests discover places to eat and drink, and operators need new technologies to keep up. Toppi’s AI-powered marketing and operations tools are designed to help them adapt.
Alongside the investment, Emiel van Dongen joins as Co-founder and CTO. With over a decade of experience in Python, AI, and data infrastructure, he will lead product development as Toppi enters its next phase.
“We tried several marketing strategies they were expensive and without much success. With Toppi we see long-term results. The team is very knowledgeable and transparent,” said Karoline Newby, Manager, The Chambers Hotel
