Rebelvolt, a Finnish startup redefining off-grid energy with its battery-based e-Generator, has secured funding from Gorilla Capital Fund III in its 31st investment, joined by JMS Consulting Oy, UAV OÜ, and Meri Heikkinen. Designed as a clean, silent, and maintenance-free alternative to diesel generators, Rebelvolt’s solution targets military, construction, event, and logistics sectors seeking sustainable and cost-effective power. With Gorilla Capital as lead investor, Rebelvolt plans to scale product development and expand its go-to-market strategy.
Rebelvolt focuses on developing emission-free energy storage and power generation solutions. Founded in 2023, the company builds on the expertise and legacy of Nordic Energiatekniikka Oy, which has operated in the energy sector for over a decade. Rebelvolt designs and manufactures battery-based systems, including portable generators and property battery solutions, aimed at reducing reliance on fossil fuels in sectors such as construction, logistics, and residential energy use.
Rebelvolt Co-founder Vesa Heikkinen shares: “From the start, Gorilla understood our product, customer profile, and international ambitions. Their analytical and founder-friendly approach made them a perfect partner as we accelerate Rebelvolt’s growth. Gorilla’s name as a lead investor convinced other investors to join, enabling us to invest in both product development and Go-to-Market.”
The company emphasizes reliability, sustainability, and practical application in its technology. Rebelvolt is led by founder Pekka Karppanen, a specialist in LiFePO₄ battery technology, and supported by a team with long-standing experience in the Finnish energy storage industry. Alongside product development, the company also engages in educational initiatives to support informed decision-making in clean energy adoption.
Gorilla Capital Partner Petri Lehmuskoski adds: “Rebelvolt may not look like a typical Gorilla company at first glance – hardware, not software – but they tick all the boxes that matter to us: capital efficiency, a business rooted in real customer demand, and founders with grounded global ambition. Their combination of rugged hardware, proprietary battery tech, and early practical traction gives them a realistic shot at building a strong position in the transition to sustainable off-grid power. We’re excited to support them as they build toward international scale, one step at a time.”
