HealthTech is one of Europe’s fastest-growing startup sectors, and EU funding is playing a major role in driving the next wave of innovation. From AI-powered diagnostics to smart medical devices, startups across the continent are tackling major healthcare challenges with bold, science-driven solutions.

According to the latest Innovation Radar Bridge (IRB) report, EU-backed startups have already created over €520 billion in enterprise value, despite receiving just 5% of total EU innovation funding. Many are still under the radar, especially in HealthTech.

That’s why we’ve used the Innovation Radar dashboard, powered by Dealroom, to curate a list of 10 of the most promising EU-supported HealthTech startups founded between 2020 and 2025. These companies are growing fast, raising millions, and reshaping everything from surgery to chronic care! Let’s delve into the startups that you should have on your radar:

Inbrain-Neuroelectronics

Inbrain Neuroelectronics: This Barcelona‑based startup, founded in 2020, is pioneering a groundbreaking ultra‑thin graphene brain‑computer interface to treat neurological conditions like Parkinson’s, epilepsy and stroke. EU-Startups has been following this team’s progress for a while, for instance, including them in our list of 10 Barcelona-based startups worth following in 2021 and beyond.

Among other funding rounds, in 2022 they were selected for the EIC’s highly competitive Accelerator programme, in 2023 secured backing from the EIB, and in 2024 raised a $50 million (approx.  €43.3 million) Series B round again with EIC participation.

dotlumen

.lumen  – Founded in Romania in 2020, .lumen develops AI-powered glasses that help visually impaired people navigate independently. Currently, there are only 28,000 guide dogs to 338 million individuals with visual disabilities, meaning another scalable solution is needed.

Its spatial navigation AI system combines gentle vibrations, guides users safely, mapping the world around them. To date, they have raised over €16 million to date, including multiple support points from EIT Urban Mobility and EIT Health between 2020 and 2024, a €2.2 million EIC grant in 2021 and a €5 million round with participation from the EIC Fund in 2025.

chiprion

Chipiron – Founded in Paris in 2020, Chipiron is on a mission to end cancer by making MRI scans as accessible as blood sampling. The current problem is that while many deadly diseases are curable if detected early, MRIs are incredibly expensive and complex, making them unavailable to people living in emerging regions.

Their response is creating one of the first light, inexpensive, open full-body MRI machines without compromising image quality. Their funding rounds include support from EIT Health in 2022 and the EIC in 2024, most recently in May 2025, closing a €15 million Series A round led by Blast, with participation by the EIC Fund.

radium
Founders Paul Herent and Pierre Manceron

Raidium – Founded in France in 2022, Raidium is on a mission to revolutionise radiology with AI-powered tools built for the real demands of modern healthcare. Nicknamed the “GPT of radiology,” their platform can analyse complex 3D medical images, like full-body MRIs or CT scans, in seconds, helping doctors detect diseases such as cancer or liver conditions with greater speed and precision. The team was recently backed in 2024 by $13 million (approx. €11.3 million) in seed funding, including participation from the EIC.

avelius
Christian Albrecht, Nicolas Jacob, and Sebastian Krammer

Avelios – Founded in Munich in 2021, Avelios is digitising hospitals to make patient care faster, easier, more efficient and safer. The World Economic Forum has stated that around 97% of produced by hospitals worldwide are underutilised. Avelios’s easy-to-use, modular platform digitises everything from check-in to treatment, while automatically collecting structured data that can power research, AI tools, and better decision-making. Avelios has a growing team of 100+ and recently landed a €2.5 million grant from the EIC Accelerator.

mimark

MiMARK – Founded in Barcelona in 2021, MiMARK is on a mission to revolutionise women’s health by improving the management of gynaecological diseases. Their first challenge is tackling the diagnosis of endometrial cancer, for which they’ve developed WomEC – a breakthrough diagnostic tool that analyses uterine fluid for five key protein biomarkers.

This test reduces the need for invasive tests and reduces waiting time and stress from a 1-month to a 2-day diagnosis. MiMARK’s innovative work has been backed by strong EU support, including €10K from EIT Health in 2018, €1.5 million from EIT Health in 2021, and €2.5 million from the European Innovation Council in 2023.

mimark
Oliver Weiss, Marcus Hott, and Dr. Leonhard Riehle

Noah Labs – Founded in 2021 in Berlin, Noah Labs is revolutionising heart health with breakthrough voice-based AI. Their smart software listens for subtle changes in your voice caused by early heart failure. By spotting trouble up to two weeks sooner than traditional checks, Noah Labs helps patients avoid costly hospital stays and live healthier, longer lives. After earlier support from EIT Health, they recently secured a €2.5 million grant from the EIC in 2025 to advance their life-saving technology.

ixi

IXI – Founded in Finland in 2021, IXI (formerly called Pixieray) is reinventing eyewear with some of the world’s first ‘autofocus’ smart glasses. It’s worth mentioning that the team has been on EU-Startups’ radar since we featured them in one of our listicles, 10 fantastic fast-growing Finnish startups to watch in 2022.

As more people face age-related vision issues like presbyopia, IXI offers a future where eyewear works with your eyes seamlessly. Their lenses instantly adjust to where you’re looking, giving clear vision at any distance; no more squinting, switching glasses, or struggling with blurry zones. The team has raised over €35.5 million so far, including a €2.5 million grant from the EIC in 2025.

vivalyx

Vivalyx – Founded in Germany in 2022, Vivalyx is dedicated to saving the lives of people with organ failure by improving the health and availability of donor organs. While there are several machines to keep organs at the right temperature, what makes the difference is the preservation liquid, and Vivalyx is one of the first to revolutionise this with their patented Omnisol solution.

It works for all types of organs and is blood-free, making it safer and easier to use. The team has already been on our radar in our weekly funding roundups and German VC reporting, and was most recently backed in 2025 by a €2.5 million grant from the EIC.

curifylabs

Curify Labs – Founded in Helsinki in 2021, Curify Labs is helping make personalised medicine a reality. Many patients, like children or those with rare diseases, need treatments in doses or forms that aren’t available off the shelf. Curify’s ‘MiniLab’ brings custom drug compounding into pharmacies and hospitals, to safely produce the right dose for each patient. The team has raised around €12 million so far, including a €2.5 million grant from the EIC in 2023.
