Milan-based Weebora, the first international marketplace entirely dedicated to sports tourism in the world of padel, announced the closing of its first pre-Seed investment round, reaching its fundraising goal of €1.3 million.
“The closing of this first round lays the groundwork for structured and sustainable growth. The goal is to reach a transaction volume of €10 million and a community of 1 million users within three years, consolidating leadership in padel-related travel and expanding into new sports verticals.
“Today, approximately 80% of travelers choose destinations that offer sports activities and rely on operators considered experts in this type of tourism. This is one of the factors behind Weebora’s success,” said Fabio Zecchini, Founder and CEO of Weebora.
Founded in 2024, Weebora is allegedly the only platform on the market capable of offering padel-related travel experiences in 4 languages (English, Spanish, Italian, French) and managing transactions in 5 currencies (Euro, US Dollar, Swiss Franc, Canadian Dollar, British Pound), responding to a growing demand for sport, vacation, culture, and entertainment.
“We are very satisfied with the trust received from investors, which rewards the work done in just over a year and confirms the potential of our business model,” added Zecchini.
According to data provided by Weebora, sports tourism is currently one of the most dynamic segments globally, second only to cultural and food & wine tourism. With an annual growth of 16.5%, it could represent a value exceeding €1.7 trillion by 2032.
In light of this trend, Weebora aims to position itself from the initial phase as a key player in padel-related travel: a phenomenon that is no longer “just a sport, but a true driver of active tourism internationally“.
The capital raised will be used to support growth and strengthen Weebora’s position as a global point of reference for padel travel experiences.
The development plan includes targeted investments in four key areas:
- Technological development and digital innovation: Weebora will continue to invest in its platform to improve user experience, integrating features such as intelligent search, dynamic travel planning, and personalised engagement tools.
- International marketing and brand awareness: A portion of the budget will be allocated to strengthening the brand’s presence in key markets in Europe, the United States, and Asia, through digital campaigns, collaborations with influencers, and PR activities.
- Expansion of strategic partnerships: The funding will accelerate the inclusion of new exclusive destinations on the platform, expand collaborations with academies, clubs, and padel resorts worldwide, and further develop the network of ambassadors and opinion leaders involved in the project. Institutional partnerships already in place, such as those with Premier Padel and the International Padel Federation (FIP), will also be strengthened, and a strategic support program for emerging professional players will be implemented.
- Team growth: To support business development and ensure service quality, Weebora will invest in expanding its team and optimising organisational processes, by bringing in key figures in technology, marketing, corporate relations, product development, and customer care.
In addition to partnerships with industry players like Premier Padel and FIP, in less than a year since its inception, Weebora has already initiated collaborations with important padel academies across the world (Rafa Nadal Academy, Gustavo Pratto Academy, M3 Academy, Paquito Navarro Academy).
To further strengthen the brand’s position in the professional arena, Weebora has also become an official sponsor of Argentine champion Franco Stupaczuk, currently ranked number 5 in the world and an iconic figure for the entire padel community.
