Malmö-based startup Visslan was acquired by Whistleblowing Solutions AB, the company behind Whistlelink. The deal brings together two players in the Nordic whistleblowing tech sector, creating Sweden’s largest provider in the space. Visslan will continue operating under its existing brand, maintaining its platform, pricing, and customer relationships. The acquisition gives Visslan access to Whistlelink’s larger technical infrastructure, development capacity, and international network. With this move, Whistlelink expands its footprint across Europe, while Visslan gains long-term backing amid growing regulatory demands around workplace reporting and compliance.
Visslan, founded in early 2021, develops whistleblowing solutions aimed at simplifying and improving the reporting process for organizations and whistleblowers. By collaborating with hundreds of companies, Visslan has addressed common challenges faced by HR, IT, and legal teams, creating standardized policies and an external reception function integrated into its platform to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Supported by an advisory board of experts in data security, ethics, and anti-corruption, the company focuses on providing practical, user-friendly tools aligned with international standards such as ISO 37002. The Visslan team combines legal, technical, and business expertise to deliver solutions that help organizations navigate evolving regulatory requirements while maintaining accessibility and effectiveness.
“We are very proud of what we have built with Visslan and the trust we have received from our customers and partners. We are extremely excited to take this next step with Whistlelink. Together, Visslan and Whistlelink become the largest whistleblowing provider in Sweden, and we are delighted that our customers become part of an even bigger context,” says Daniel Vaknine, Co-Founder of Visslan.
Whistlelink is a Swedish company providing whistleblowing solutions designed to help organizations comply with the EU Whistleblower Directive and related regulations. Operating for over a decade, Whistlelink offers a user-friendly and secure platform available in more than 35 languages, featuring customizable reporting forms, administrative tools, and reporting capabilities. The system is GDPR-compliant, ISO 27001 certified, and hosted in Sweden.
Whistlelink serves a wide range of organizations across Europe and beyond, supporting various reporting needs while maintaining a focus on transparency, accountability, and ease of implementation. The company also offers guidance on whistleblowing policies and access to partner services for report screening and case management.
“We are impressed by what the Visslan team has achieved. Their proven solution and strong market presence make them a valuable addition to Whistlelink’s long-term strategy,” states Klas Karlsson, CEO of Whistlelink.
Under the terms of the acquisition, Visslan will continue to operate under its own brand and maintain its existing platform, contracts, and pricing. Customers can expect continuity in service, while gaining access to Whistlelink’s broader technical infrastructure, development resources, and international experience. Whistlelink’s ISO27001-certified infrastructure and expanded support network are expected to enhance the security and scalability of Visslan’s offering.
With this acquisition, the combined entity aims to support more organizations across over 60 countries in implementing effective whistleblowing systems, reinforcing efforts toward safer and more transparent workplaces.
