DigitalBridge is reportedly weighing up a potential sale of Finnish telecom tower and data center operator Digita Oy.
Citing people with knowledge of the matter, Bloomberg reports the digital infrastructure investor is working with advisors to sound out potential buyers.
DigitalBridge is said to be seeking around €1 billion ($1.2bn) for the Helsinki-based operator.
Discussions are reportedly at an early stage, and the company may decide not to sell.
The companies didn’t provide a comment to Bloomberg.
Founded in 1999 as a spin-off from national broadcaster Yle, Digita provides digital infrastructure and services to Finland, claiming to be the largest independent owner of telecommunications masts.
French radio services firm TDF Group bought the company from Yle in 2000, and sold it to First State Investments in 2012. DigitalBridge (then Digital Colony) acquired the company from First State in 2018.
Digita operates a site in the Pasila area of Helsinki, offering up to 1.7MW across two buildings, with total capacity for 410 racks across 1,650 sqm (17,760 sq ft).
Earlier this year, Digita broke off its infrastructure unit into a new business called Digita Tower Oy, with the original Digita retaining the broadcasting and telecoms business. The company previously carved its data center into a separate unit in 2023.
Previous reports have suggested DigitalBridge could be acquired this year.
DigitalBridge’s Yondr tops out Toronto facility
Elsewhere in the extended Digital Bridge universe, the company’s Yondr subsidiary has topped out its first Canadian facility.
Announced on LinkedIn last week, the final steel beam was put in place on the first building at its campus in Toronto.
First announced in late 2024, Yondr broke ground on the site in February.
Situated on a 4.5-acre site, the three-storey, 27MW data center is on track to deliver its first megawatts in mid-2026.
Previously owned by single-family investment office Cathexis, Apollo Global Management, and Mubadala, DigitalBridge announced plans to acquire Yondr in October 2024, though terms weren’t disclosed.
