Groundley, a Copenhagen-based FinTech startup, has raised €970K in seed funding to further develop its AI-powered platform for financial and sustainability tracking in large enterprises. The round includes a loan from the Danish Export and Investment Fund (EIFO) and equity from a group of angel investors, including Christian Dideriksen. The investment values the company at €4.6 million. Groundley’s software integrates with legacy and modern ERP systems to extract invoice-level data, categorize spending under emissions frameworks, and support cost and carbon tracking across complex enterprise structures. The new capital will be used to scale operations, improve AI functionality, and expand within the European market.
Groundley is a fintech company founded in 2023 by Ahmad Sabah, Jeppe Jørgensen, and Mads Zeidler. The company develops software that helps large enterprises analyze external spending and track carbon emissions by extracting and structuring data from invoices across various ERP systems.
“The team behind Groundley is building what we see as a revolutionary AI engine for smart finance,” states Christian Dideriksen, Investor and Financial Adviser at Dideriksen & Company.
Groundley’s platform is designed to work with diverse and fragmented enterprise infrastructures, offering tools for sourcing analysis, sustainability reporting, and accounting oversight. The technology is used by organizations operating across multiple countries and legal entities to improve data accuracy and decision-making in finance and compliance functions.
“With the closing of our funding round, we are truly excited about being able to expand our product and help more enterprises across Northern Europe control their cost,” shares Mads Zeidler, CEO and Co-founder, with EU-Startups. “Large enterprises have a poor understanding of what they spend their money on, ie., what exactly do they buy, at which prices and at what footprint – across ERP systems, countries, business units and languages.”
