Europe’s healthcare landscape is undergoing a quiet revolution, powered not just by new medicines but by lines of code. Artificial Intelligence is swiftly becoming the doctor’s most powerful ally, enhancing diagnostics, streamlining workflows, and enabling more personalised, predictive care.

In the first quarter of 2025 alone, European startups secured €12.79 billion in private funding, with healthtech taking the lead as the most funded sector, attracting €4.42 billion, according to Dealroom data. Amid this surge, a new generation of AI-driven HealthTech startups is emerging, building tools and platforms that are redefining how care is delivered.

In the following lines, we have curated a list of 10 promising startups founded between 2022 and 2025 that are seamlessly integrating AI with healthcare to advance this industry in Europe. Lets get into it!

better-med

Better Medicine: Emerging from Estonia’s vibrant deep tech scene, Better Medicine is tackling a critical challenge in medical imaging. The startup has created an AI-powered tool that helps radiologists read CT scans with greater accuracy, focusing on the early detection of kidney tumours. Their software – the first clinically certified system of its kind — can detect, classify, and measure tumours with impressive precision. In clinical tests, it reached a detection rate of 99.2%, offering real support for early cancer diagnosis.

Trained on anonymised patient scans and already in use in hospitals, the technology is designed to assist, not replace, radiologists – helping to make faster, more accurate decisions. Founded in 2022 and based in Tartu, the team has raised €2.5 million so far and is now focused on expanding across Europe. With regulatory approval already in place, they’re well-positioned to bring their innovation to more clinical settings.

biolevate

Biolevate: Headquartered in Paris, this startup is making waves in the healthcare space by using AI to streamline knowledge management and spark scientific innovation. Its platform is designed to support clinicians and researchers by taking over time-consuming tasks like literature monitoring and document drafting, freeing up experts to focus on what really matters.

Founded in 2024, Biolevate brings together a multidisciplinary team with deep experience in healthcare, artificial intelligence, and content automation. With €6 million in funding, the company is growing fast, both across France and internationally, as it continues to build tools that make a real difference for research-driven organisations and life sciences companies.

bioptimus

Bioptimus: Launched in 2024, this Paris-based startup is building a universal AI foundation model for biology. Its goal is to integrate biological data across multiple scales, from molecular structures to whole organisms. By doing so, it aims to speed up scientific discovery and power a new wave of innovation in the life sciences. The platform positions itself as a critical tool for pharmaceutical research, biotechnology, and academic institutions.

Its technology enables researchers to uncover insights that were previously hidden in fragmented datasets. With almost €67 million raised so far, the startup is among the best-funded new players in European healthtech.

elea

Elea: Headquartered in Hamburg and founded in 2024, this German startup is reimagining the role of pathology in clinical diagnostics through AI. The platform leverages machine learning to digitise, analyse, and interpret pathology slides with remarkable efficiency. By automating complex workflows, the system helps pathologists reduce turnaround times and improve diagnostic accuracy.

With €4 million in funding secured, the startup is putting AI at the centre of clinical lab change, rapidly expanding throughout the diagnostics landscape. Its AI-enhanced method is helping to bring pathology into the era of precision healthcare.

Graph-Therapeutics

Graph Therapeutics: This Vienna-based biotech startup, founded in 2024, is at the forefront of healthcare innovation. They aim to change inflammation and immunology drug discovery by applying AI, a therapeutic area traditionally characterised by trial-and-error methods.

The core technology of Graph Therapeutics involves modelling disease pathways and identifying drug candidates with a higher likelihood of success. This approach is expected to significantly shorten the discovery timeline for new treatments. The startup has secured nearly €4 million in funding and is actively collaborating with pharmaceutical partners to refine and validate its models.

kardi-ai

Kardi Ai: Established in 2022, this Czech startup enables at-home cardiac monitoring using AI-powered wearable tech. By interpreting heart activity through neural networks, AI works in real time, monitoring users continuously and reducing dependence on hospital visits.

The system is already available through cardiologists and comes bundled in a kit that patients can use at home. With nearly €3 million raised so far, the startup is expanding access to remote diagnostics for heart patients. It bridges consumer tech and clinical-grade healthcare through smart algorithms.

okeiro

Okeiro: Headquartered in Paris and founded in 2023, Okeiro, delivers an AI-powered platform focused on chronic disease and transplant care. Its technology enables early detection, continuous monitoring, and personalised treatment pathways for high-risk patients. By bringing together patient data and predictive models, the platform supports clinicians in making timely, informed decisions. The system is tailored to conditions that demand constant oversight, such as kidney transplants or heart failure, pathologies.

Backed by €10 million in funding, Okeiro is now expanding its reach across European healthcare providers. Its focus on preventative care and personalised medicine sets it apart in managing complex conditions.

Orakl-oncology

Orakl Oncology: Operating from Villejuif, this early-stage French startup combines biology and AI to push the boundaries of oncology drug development. It maintains a unique biobank of tumour avatars that represent real-world patient diversity. These models allow researchers to simulate drug responses and improve precision in targeting specific cancers. Founded in 2023, the startup blends machine learning and lab science to speed up time-to-clinic for new therapies.

Their innovative understanding of cancer drug discovery through AI-enhanced biologival modelling made them raise €14 million to scale their platform and expand its pipeline of partnerships.

Rematiq

Rematiq: This Berlin-based startup applies AI to the complex world of product compliance for medical technology. It offers an automated platform that streamlines regulatory workflows for manufacturers, suppliers, and notified bodies. By replacing manual processes with intelligent automation, it speeds up certification and market access. Founded in 2022, Rematiq’s platform monitors regulatory updates in real-time and adapts documentation accordingly. It offers a particularly strong use case for scaling medtech compliance while maintaining quality standards.

Backed with €5.4 million in financing, the startup aims to apply AI to a vital, yet frequently overlooked, component of the healthcare innovation pipeline: regulatory preparedness.

TORTUS-ai

TORTUS AI: Founded in 2022 and based in London, is on a mission to reduce human error in healthcare with the help of an AI-powered assistant designed specifically for clinicians. Rather than being just another tool, the assistant works like a digital co-worker, taking care of repetitive tasks like patient documentation, test ordering, and summarising medical data. The idea is simple: let doctors spend more time with patients and less time on paperwork.

The startup is now rolling out its solution across the UK healthcare system, backed by nearly €4 million in funding. By easing the digital burden on clinicians, TORTUS AI aims to improve care quality while tackling burnout, bringing smart, supportive tech to the heart of healthcare.
