Irish EdTech startup The Corporate Governance Institute, an e-learning and certification platform, has completed a €3 million funding round to support the company’s continued growth as a provider of boardroom education in Europe and beyond.
The round was led by BVP Ireland, a multi-asset investment platform, providing a range of capital solutions to companies at various stages of the business life cycle. Additional investors include Enterprise Ireland and private investors.

Founded in 2020, The Corporate Governance Institute looks to be a leader in the education and certification of boardroom directors and business leaders. The Institute believes that good governance is a powerful catalyst for transformation, innovation, sustainable growth, and meaningful progress.
Offering a portfolio of Diplomas, Certificates, and short-form courses, delivered through a practitioner-led approach and supported by university accreditation. The Institute’s mission is to democratise access to director-level training and empower a new generation of leaders to unlock strategic, long-term competitive advantage.
In recent years, the organisation has expanded its offerings to include topics such as ESG, artificial intelligence, and digital governance. Today, it hosts the “world’s largest curated library of governance-related education“. The new funding will enable further development of its course portfolio and continued expansion into international markets.

Their Governance Advisory Council consists of boardroom leaders, educators, industry influencers, employers and pedagogical experts. Their purposes is to make sure that certified director training courses contain the “latest and best thinking in corporate governance“.
