ClearQuote, a UK-based startup pioneering AI-powered fleet diagnostics, has been crowned winner of the European edition of the Last Mile Nexus startup showcase. Held as part of Last Mile Leaders Europe 2025 in Amsterdam, the event brought together innovators, investors, and global logistics leaders to spotlight breakthrough solutions for the future of last-mile delivery.
Hosted by FarEye and powered by Eight Roads, the Last Mile Nexus aims to uncover high-potential logistics startups addressing real-world delivery challenges. Following successful editions in Asia and Africa, this year marked the platform’s first venture into Europe—and it did not disappoint.
A Showcase of Innovation
Three standout startups were selected from a highly competitive pool and invited to pitch their solutions live on stage:
ClearQuote (UK) – Provides AI-powered diagnostics to detect and assess vehicle damage, helping logistics providers reduce downtime and repair costs.
Shiptimize (Portugal) – A shipping automation platform designed for SMEs and e-commerce brands, offering multi-carrier management and simplified fulfilment workflows.
Datakrew (Poland) – Delivers predictive analytics and optimisation for electric delivery fleets and sustainable last-mile infrastructure.
ClearQuote took the top spot thanks to its ability to solve a critical pain point for logistics operators: fleet maintenance. As one of the most significant cost drivers in last-mile operations, delays and inefficiencies caused by manual vehicle inspections can have a widespread impact. ClearQuote’s technology uses computer vision and AI to automate damage detection, streamline inspections, and get vehicles back on the road faster, garnering praise from the jury and attendees alike.
The Jury
Startups were evaluated by a cross-sector jury of logistics and venture leaders:
- Bernhard Bukovc – Founder, Connect2Posts
- Sebastian Krysén – Business Transformation Manager, IKEA
- Gautam Kumar – Co-founder & COO, FarEye
- Prachee Van Brandenburg – Founding Charter Member, TiE
Insights from the Industry
The Nexus session took place during Last Mile Leaders Europe 2025, which welcomed over 80 senior supply chain executives from leading brands including DHL, IKEA, Wayfair, Electrolux, PostNord, and JB Hi-Fi. The event also featured the launch of Eye on the Last Mile 4.0—a new industry report based on feedback from over 500 European logistics leaders.
The report revealed that 98% of logistics professionals now cite operational cost as their top concern. Notably, AI and automation have overtaken sustainability as the leading investment priority in the region. While 83% of respondents acknowledged the need for green delivery, only 16.7% have implemented sustainable last-mile practices, highlighting a growing gap between awareness and action.
