Blubrake, an Italian scaleup that developed an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) for e-bike, attracted 12 million euros from Algebris Climatech (lead investor), Fundracer and Tri-Star that will support the product industrialization (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Blubrake retained Growth Capital. Algebris hired Deloitte Legal. Fabio Todeschini, e-Novia and a goup of researchers and professors at Milan Polytechnic University founded Blubrake in 2015. Lumai, a spin-off of prestigious Oxford University for accelerating AI-based optic systems to address the global computational sector, attracted more than 9.2 million euros from Constructor Capital (lead investor), IP Group, Photon Ventures, Journey Ventures, Qubit Ventures, State Farm Ventures, TIS, and LIFTT, the investment holding that Stefano Buono heads (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Tim Weil (ceo), Xianxin Guo and James Spall are the company’s founders. Pierluigi Freni is the Project Manager of LIFTT. Next Generation Robotics secured a 4.5 million euros round from CDP Venture Capital- Digital Transition, Fondo ToscanaNext, Cysero- AVM Gestioni (0.35 million), RIF-T, Simest, Pariter Robotics, RoboIT, and Pariter Partners (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Massimiliano Gabardi (ceo) and Antonio Frisoli founded Next Generation Robotics in 2020. Enrico Filì is the head of Digital Transition. Paolo Vergori is the Innovation Manager of Equiter the sole advisor of RIF-T. Giovanna Dossena is the founder and Principal of AVM.
Axyon AI, an AI-based Italian fintech, raised 4.3 million euros from CDP Venture Capital, Green Sands Equity, Montage Ventures, Investment Opportunity 1, and SIMEST – F.394 (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Daniele Grassi, Giacomo Barigazzi and Jacopo Credi founded Axyon AI in 2016 and since then raised a total of 11.9 million from ING Bank and other investors. Caterina Siclari is a senior partner of CDP Venture Capital. Reema Kahn is the ceo and founder of Green Sands Equity. Todd Kimmel is a managing partner of Montage Ventures. SEI–Sviluppo Ecosistemi di Innovazione, a vehicle of Neva (part of Intesa Sanpaolo), and Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo invested 2.5 million euros in Galaxia, a technology transfer pole for the aerospace sector that CDP Venture Capital and Obloo Ventures launched in 2023 (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Aftuer having attracted such resources, Galaxia hit its 30 million fundraising target that will support the aerospace startups. Mario Costantini is the ceo and general manager of Neva. London’s cleantech Arxax attracted one million euros from Acceleratore Zero – CDP Venture Capital, Zest, EIT Urban Mobility, Smart & Start – Invitalia, and a grant of Provincia Autonoma di Bolzano (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Elham Hassanzadeh, ceo, founded Arxax. The company will open an Italian bureau in Bolzano’s NOI Techpark. Stefano Molino heads Fondo Acceleratori – CDP Venture Capital. Matteo Consonni is the Head of Portfolio Management of EIT Urban Mobility.
K-Sport World, an Italian Match & Training Analysis firm, acquired 67% of SPT – Sport Performance Tracking, an Australian competitor that operates in USA since 2018 (see here a previous post by BeBeez). William Strange is the ceo of SPT. Alberto Guidotti is the ceo of K-Sport.
